SITE II  Merkourov Museum

Béatrice Graf, musician and performer, took possession of the Merkourov Museum’s surrounding area. She opted for the interior courtyard and the balcony, as well as the apple tree in the museum garden, to conduct her rehearsals and performances. She delivered a series of experiments in sound developed from everyday objects, which were recovered and diverted from their original function, that captivated those in attendance and evoked great curiosity. With brilliance and sensitivity, Béatrice Graf combined the areas of sound experimentation — transforming them in scenes which subtly work on the relationship between sound and image — with periods of more standard music, but always surprizing us with the means of creating sounds (pans, seashells, cardboard boxes, apples, etc.). Bref was a success that delighted the public. The two other Swiss artists, as well as a number of Armenian artists, presented their work inside the museum.

Exposition « Art & Son », Luzia Hürzeler & Béatrice Graf / Laurent Faulon & Yann Gourdon

Si les plasticiens font souvent intervenir du son dans leurs travaux, plus rares sont ceux qui conçoivent leurs pièces en collaboration avec un musicien, à l’instar des artistes invités à la Villa Bernasconi dont les travaux associent images, compositions sonores et performances. Entre vidéos et installations un congélateur vi- bre de tous ses capteurs sonores sous les doigts d’un dj, vielliste d’avant-garde, des baguettes transforment un corps en instrument de percus- sion, des objets de récupération prennent forme musicale, un danseur évolue entre espace réel et fictif, enfin un concert itinérant fleurit entre prés et bosquets du parc Bernasconi.

Performances : Mercredi 9 septembre à 19 h 00, « Comediventareunabatteria », performance de Luzia Hürzeler et Béatrice Graf, suivie de « Grottesque » avec Luzia Hürzeler, Béatrice Graf et Rudi van der Merwe

Jeudi 10 septembre à 18 h 00, « Impro minuscule », concert Lilly Pucien & Friends, avec les instruments construits durant l’atelier enfants de l’après-midi

Vendredi 11 septembre de 18 h 00 à 22 h 00, « Transhumance », ponctuation musicale itinérante dans le parc, puis concert final de l’Ensemble Sémaphore.
